Join us on August 17 at 11:30am for an informative and fun discussion with South Florida Business Journal Managing Editor Judy Miller.

Miller worked at the Miami Herald from 1992 to 2006, starting as an assistant city editor in Broward County and rising to investigations editor and then managing editor. She led the team of Herald journalists that won the Pulitzer Prize in 1999 for exposing voter fraud in the Miami mayoral election. She also co-led the Herald team that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Elián González raid.

She was part of Pulitzer Prize finalist teams with the Herald for two other stories: the Columbia shuttle explosion and electrical flaws in South Florida bus shelters. Miller, who holds a B.A. in journalism from Ohio State University, also directed a team that won the Goldsmith Prize from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and she won the James K. Batten Knight-Ridder Journalist of the Year award.

After leaving the Herald, Miller worked for corporate fraud investigation and business intelligence firms. “Journalism has been my passion since high school,” she said. "I saw a great opportunity at the South Florida Business Journal to cover one of the most important stories in the region right now, which is the development of the region as an economic power.”

Miller has been a Miami resident since 1992.
